I sold my first business at 17 years old. I had spent the previous 6 years building a portfolio of customers for my tractor business. I was immediately hooked on the early stages of building companies from the ground up.
I skipped college and opted to build my own digital marketing agency. After 18 months, a competitor approached me with a compelling offer. As a new father of a 4 month old and husband, we took the offer and moved to Utah to pursue a career in tech.
I joined Hirevue around $5m of revenue and ~30 employees. The sales process was in its infancy. We spent 2 years honing the playbook and building a machine. We went to $30m in 2 years. Hirevue eventually sold to a PE firm for over $700m
I joined Lucid around $5m with a sales team of ~10 reps. The $5m was mostly self serve and we had to figure out how to build a GTM motion on top of a self serve PLG. We grew to $100m in the next 4 years. I ran the commercial segment of the business focus on <5,000 companies.
I joined Workstream at $400k. The sales org consisted of myself, my CEO and 1 AE. We had to write the playbook from scratch that would help up scale into the coming years. We quickly scaled to >$20m and a sales org of >80 people in 2 years.
I've been fortunate to be part of a few incredible companies and have seen the journey of early stages to hyper growth. I've found my passion in helping these early stage founders make the scary transition into their initial sales teams and helping reduce the risk of this transition.
